Alan Turnbull

Alan Turnbull is a painter and printmaker who has exhibited at national and international level since 1979, after gaining a First in his BA Fine Art at Newcastle in 1978, and his MA at Chelsea School of Art in 1979. 

Alan includes the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, York City Art Gallery and the Scottish Royal Academy and Royal Society of Scottish Artists amongst his list of exhibiton venues. He recieved the Boise Travelling Scholarship in 1980, the International Prize for Film/Performance at Dresden in 1995, and a British Council award in 1995. In 2003 Alan put on a major exhibition of his etchings in St Petersberg, a project supported by the Arts Council of England. He is currently dividing his time between teaching in the Fine Art Department at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne and producing his own work, concentrating principally on printmaking and drawing.
