Bend in the Tyne - Richard Hobson

£350.00

Richard Hobson
Bend in the Tyne
Etching, from a limited edition of 15
5.6 x 15.2cm (image)
26.4 x 35cm (frame)

This etching has been specially commissioned to accompany the exhibition 'Richard Hobson (1945-2004): The North East's Changing Industiral Landscape' at Gallagher & Turner, printed by a master printer from Richard Hobson's original plate.

Each print is sold framed in solid, limed oak.

The work of Richard Hobson buzzes with the intensity and vibrancy of an artist completely absorbed in their location. Soaring ships in Tyneside dockyards, rugged, industrial Northumbrian landscapes and excited Cullercoats day-trippers were all regular subjects. He worked quickly and instinctively, outdoors in all seasons and weathers, giving his paintings and drawings a sense of gritty realism.
