Spring Greens - Katy Fortune

£200.00

Acrylic

46 x 46cm

2023

Framed in a white frame with off white mount. Spring sunshine floods the woodland creating dappled light on the ground, and washing the newly emerged leaves with a bright glow.

Katy Fortune is a Tyneside artist living near the north east coast. With no formal art training, art began as a hobby juggled alongside a full time job, until retirement, which provided the opportunity to paint on a more regular basis. Whilst initially using watercolours, Katy now prefers the stronger colour that acrylics provide. Her paintings are inspired by her days exploring the stunning North East coast and its nearby landscape, then using photographs and sketches from those visits to create a piece of art which is not a photographic representation, but portrays the essence of the scene.
Katy has exhibited at Woodhorn Museum’s Open Exhibitions and Newcastle Arts Centre
